Abstract For large parts or southern Africa, February is the main rainfall month of the rainfall season. While January brought below average rainfall for Namibia and South Africa in January 2026, February was above average rainfall. Conversely, for Zimbabwe, while January was above average, February was well below average. Months marked in red represent the worst rainfall recorded for a month of January, since 1981, while green represent the best month of January since 1981. ?
