Abstract |
As part of this thesis, the distributive hydrological model J2000 was adapted to the catchment of the Klein Berg River, in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. Suffering high temperatures and low precipitation at the same time, water supply can be challenging, which puts demands for managing the water resources. The aim was to analyse and to simulate the physically based rainfall-runoff components and evapotranspiration mechanism. Furthermore, it was tested if the usage of MODIS Evapotranspiration (MODIS ET)ET satellite data for replacing the input of measured weather data in order to estimate the amount of actual resp. potential evapotranspiration (ETact, ETpot) is conductive or not. In conclusion, the different model approaches are compared and evaluated. |
