A study was carried out at the Experimental Farm of Ngongoinga, Faculty of Agrarian Sciences, in Huambo, in order to determine the time of application of the nitrogen in coverage according to the characteristics of the plant and the growth curve for maize. It has two tests: I. Construction of the growth curve of maize II. Different times of cover application in maize, where maize was cultivated with a bottom fertilization using elemental fertilizers and 6 treatments with varying doses of nitrogen cover application. The results showed that there is a strong correlation between the evaluated parameters: leaf length, stem diameter and height and the growth dynamics of each plant in maize. The best behaviors of the different parameters evaluated according to the treatments were in the T1, T2, T4, T5 and T6, without differences between them. The highest corn yield under study conditions was obtained with the treatment where it was fertilized with 225 N - 100 P2O5 - 100 K2O; and coverage N at 45 days, with a value of 2 825.39 kg ha-1. The exponential regression model showed a better adjustment of the data, which allowed to determine the relative and absolute growth curve of the maize crop under the conditions studied. |
