Abstract This ethnobotanical study of plants used as green manure had the participation of traditional knowledge. The traditional farmers, in their different crops, perform organic fertilization. They were identified 14 species with potentials in the improvement and conservation of the soil. The Fabaceae, have the particularity of promoting the recovery of soils, due to the ability to capture atmospheric nitrogen and transfer them to agroecosystems. ?
