Abstract	An important challenge that the national meteorological services were facing in the beginning of the project was the importation of data already available in electronic form into CLIMSOFT. To overcome this issue, SASSCAL provided different open-source tools created specifically for each meteorological service. Over the years, however, it was acknowledged that a common tool would be a better solution to ensure the long-term operation of the import process. Therefore, the SASSCAL team developed a new open-source application called import-App, which is currently available to all NMS partners.	?
